One of my clients recently made an appointment for training with me. When I got to her apartment in Forest Hills, she told me that he had not had internet service and her landline phone was not working since the day before and was hoping I could fix it. My first thought was that it could be a problem with her internet provider. When I checked her modem, I noticed that none of the lights were on. I then checked the outlet and noticed that her modem was not properly plugged in. I plugged it in and presto, the lights on her modem went on and a minute later both her phone and internet were back up. I then proceeded to work with her on the areas on training her to better use her computer.
If something is not working whether it be your internet, cable TV, computer, printer, etc before panicking it is a good idea to check the connections whether it be the plug, USB or other connection. Had she checked her connection, her phone and internet would have been up a lot sooner. She also would have had a less or non-anxious moment.
